Spring Based Activities
Exercising during closure!Hi all,
A bit of work now that parents have to do as well as children! Please make sure that you are all making sure to keep your exercising up during your time off. There are a variety of means by which you can still stay active in your houses. We would love it if everyone could complete a 10@10 daily so as to keep your mental health as well as your physical health well! Link: https://rtejr.rte.ie/10at10/ If everyone could focus on episode 1 today Aoife and Stephen would be delighted! Children can decide on whether their parents are working hard enough and deserve to go to blue! Stephen and Aoife The I.N.T.O Have put together some tips and tricks for school lessons at home. Have a look and encourage your child to complete a school based task each day.
Send any completed work to us and we will put it on our 'Amazing Work' Page. https://www.into.ie/2020/03/18/tips-and-tricks-home-learning/ Pot of Gold Art!Hi all,
Seeing as it was St. Patrick's Day yesterday we thought it would be a lovely idea to make our very own pot of gold! Leprechauns are known around Ireland to be in possession of gold. Irish legends say that at the end of a rainbow you will find a leprechaun who in turn has to give you his pot of gold! You will need some:
As you can see in the picture below we are looking to get a project similar! If you want to add in a pesky Leprechaun even better!! Looking forward to seeing the results! Stephen & Aoife We understand that many children may not understand what is going on with the school closures and may be quite anxious as a result. This social story should help children and parents with any questions as to what coronavirus is and how we can keep ourselves safe.
Stephen & Aoife Smiling is infectious - by Spike MilliganHello Parents,
Given the current situation we feel the poem smiling is infectious by Spike Milligan to be a lovely poem in which children can learn that not all infections are to be scared about. We would ask you to read this poem with your children and discuss it with them. Underline any words that children ay not understand and using google dictionary find out what each of the words mean. Be sure to talk to your child about any rhyming words you can see in the poem (too/flu, infected/undetected etc.) Ask the children to come up with some similar words for words in the poem (earth = world, smile = grin etc.). Ask them then to read it back to you/along with you. To make it a bit more fun ask your child to read it in a variety of voices
After you have done ask your child to draw a picture to correspond with the picture and then to write a few sentences underneath the picture describing what the picture is about (E.G. In my picture I have drawn one man smiling and then another woman smiling too. She is smiling because a smile is infectious and when one person smiles the other person cannot help but smile too!) Stephen & Aoife Hello parents, With the sudden closure of the school we've put together a school closure emergency pack for children to complete during their time off. This is not work to be completed in one sitting but just some work to keep children's minds active during the school closure. We will be updating the blog over the fortnight and contacting parents through aladdin assigning activities for children to complete so as to keep them learning throughout the time off. Please ensure to promote the children's love of reading during the time off and both Aoife and Stephen would love to see any and all work completed (project work, poetry, baking, science experiments etc.) so be sure to email work on so we can share it on the blog! We have also prepared some generic activities that we hope will be fun for you and your children during the school closure. You can find the link here: https://www.aladdin.ie/notification/4612221521887232/file/5066281840541696/PETNS%20Generic%20Home%20Activiities.pdf We will hopefully see you all again on the 30th!
